Overview

The Product Compliance Engineer (India) will be responsible for supporting and implementing regulatory and agency compliance requirements for QSC electronic products, including digital products, amplifiers, and powered loudspeakers, with a primary focus on the Indian market while supporting global compliance activities as needed. The role ensures that products intended for sale in India are aligned with applicable national regulations and standards related to electromagnetic compatibility, product safety, energy efficiency, environmental compliance, and other relevant regulatory frameworks, while maintaining consistency with QSC’s global compliance strategy. 

The position supports the Product Compliance Team headquartered in Costa Mesa, California (USA) by planning, coordinating, and executing activities required to obtain and maintain regulatory approvals necessary for product introduction and commercialization in India and other international markets. The Product Compliance Engineer will act as a regional compliance subjectmatter resource, providing consultative support on Indian regulatory requirements and their interaction with international standards and certification schemes. 

This role requires strong analytical skills, effective coordination with internal engineering and operations teams, and regular interaction with external test laboratories, certification bodies, and regulatory stakeholders within India, as well as with international partners. The position demands the ability to manage multiple compliance activities in parallel, support new product introductions, and contribute to ongoing compliance maintenance across the product lifecycle. A solid working knowledge of EMC, product safety, environmental, and material compliance standards is required, along with the ability to apply global compliance principles to local market requirements. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Product Compliance Team in Costa Mesa (Headquarters), the Distech Product Compliance Team, and regional stakeholders to ensure new and existing products meet applicable Indian and global compliance requirements. 
  • Monitor global and Indiaspecific regulatory requirements; proactively research regulatory updates and provide timely guidance and training to crossfunctional teams on EMC, safety, and material compliance to support compliant product design and sourcing. 
  • Maintain an internal reference library of relevant international and local regulations and standards. 
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local and international regulatory authorities, certification bodies, and test laboratories, resolving compliancerelated issues as needed. 
  • Create, review, and support product compliance plans, including regulatory strategy, budgets, and certification lead times. 
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to obtain required compliance documentation and approvals within defined schedules. 
  • Maintain a working set of compliance constraints within internal systems to support early risk identification and design compliance. 
  • Support the maintenance of product certifications throughout the product lifecycle, including sustaining and change management activities. 
  • Work with sustaining and sourcing teams to identify alternative component sources while preserving compliance with original certifications. 
  • Ensure all sustaining changes remain fully compliant with existing regulatory approvals and certifications. 
  • Respond in a timely manner to day-to-day requests from team members and customers on compliance matters 
  • Provide support for daily operations and engineering support for Product Compliance team 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline 
  • In depth knowledge of international standards, processes, and procedures required to meet compliance 
  • Working with Regulatory agencies  
  • Strong ability in reading and understanding technical data 
  • Ability to be self-directed and motivated
