Overview

The Agile Scrum Lead is a pivotal role that employs Agile methodologies and Scrum practices to guide and facilitate the development team's journey towards efficiency and excellence. As an experienced leader of organizational change, you will be responsible for the continuous care and feeding of the Agile mindset. This role is instrumental in shaping the team's approach to project management and performance, ensuring that each member is empowered to contribute to the team's success in a meaningful way. By embracing the unique dynamics of the team and the projects at hand, the Agile Scrum Lead will take charge in creating a flexible, responsive, and high-performing environment that thrives on the principles of Agile and Scrum.

 

This position is ideally based near one of our 3 offices, Fort Wayne, IN / Boulder, CO / Costa Mesa, CA but is also open to remote candidates.

 

Base Pay Range Salary Range: $114,000 - $149,000

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage our scrum development cycle and quarterly market releases, as well as releasing patches and maintaining LTS releases.
  • Proactively communicate delivery targets, commitments and progress
  • Drive and optimize the release process for efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to prepare release documentation and artifacts.
  • Identify and remove impediments and shield the team from external interruptions to maintain productivity
  • Enable and support asynchronous communication, work to minimize regular meetings and ceremonies and ensure they are well-run and efficient.
  • Drive metric-informed continuous improvement across all scrum teams.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to track effective quality and delivery metrics.
  • Mentor team members who have Scrum Master responsibilities and serve as the Scrum Master for some of our scrum teams, facilitating regular meetings including daily stand-ups, backlog pruning, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Where appropriate, coach the teams to improve collaboration and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in the engineering organization of a software company using common agile methodologies
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a cross-functional role related to delivery and software development processes, e.g. as a Release Manager, Delivery Manager or Scrum Master
  • Experience using agile tools (Jira preferred) and techniques (e.g. burndown charts, cycle time and MTTx) to track software development quality and delivery
  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and release management processes.
  • Good general understanding of the role of product managers, engineers, testers and product marketers
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, especially Scrum and Kanban
  • Experience in collaborating with DevOps teams and understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and metric development.

Plus

  • Experience in software development working with C++, JavaScript, or similar
  • Experience in a product or project management role
