Overview

The Q-SYS Video Product Manager will play a leading role in the ongoing development of solutions in the Q-SYS Video category. This role will focus on driving product strategy and execution of Q-SYS video distribution products, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and application areas including Collaboration, Commercial AV and Entertainment.

 

Ideal candidate is a product owner with technical skills and business acumen and a deep understanding of video markets, and is  responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle, including: identifying market requirements, defining product vision and use cases, preparing and articulating the business case, and working closely with the development and go-to-market teams to develop and launch the products. You will be the product champion, communicating the capabilities and advantages of our solutions to internal teams; Executives, other Product Managers, Platform Architects, development leaders, Go-to-Market teams, and Support as well as external stakeholders; Systems Integrators, Consultants and Channel Partners.

 

Base Salary Range 129,000 – 175,000

 

The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. In addition to the base salary range, QSC offers a comprehensive package including but not limited to health benefits, 401K or Roth retirement plans, generous time off and profit sharing

Responsibilities

  • Analyze market trends and customer needs. As a cradle-to-grave product manager, define product line strategy, roadmap and product concepts including business case proposals. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business strategy, including that of all application areas as well as other Q-SYS platform products.
  • Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and use cases. Work with cross-functional development teams throughout the product development phases to define initiative and user stories, and provide clarity to the development teams as required.
  • Product Ownership; create and maintain market and product requirements and business case documents required for the proposed and underway development programs. Own the business case creation.
  • Attend trade shows, regional and national events, sales events and meetings, dealer events, and other related activities as deemed necessary.

  • Drive market communications and proactively work with cross-functional team to develop training material for product launch and support.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of competitive products’ functionality and effectively articulate our differentiating value proposition.
  • Work with internal teams to determine product pricing and end-of-life product transitions, if any.
  • Willingness to travel to QSC office locations and customer sites including international. Approximately 25 - 30% travel required.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, or similar related fields. MBA preferred. 

Experience

  • 5+ years experience working as a Product Manager in AV or IT field
  • 5+ years working as part of a large, cross-functional collaborative team
  • Experience in Video technologies
  • Prior experience with product management, technical marketing, advanced applications engineering or system integration, preferably within the AV/IT/UC field
  • 5+ years working in the professional AV / IT space as a manufacturer, vendor, sytem integrator, consultant, or end user
  • Deep understanding of video in professional, installed AV applications
  • Strong ability to translate market needs in to actionable market, product and software definitions is a must
  • Demonstrated proficiency with tools like JIRA and Confluence
  • Specialized integration knowledge of UC&C applications such as VoIP, soft-codecs, conferencing, paging, content streaming
  • Specialized knowledge of global AV integration market and understanding of customer relationships such as end users, inetgrators, consultants
  • A demonstrated history of successfully contributing to new product development efforts
  • Must be able to clearly define market needs, coupled with achievable business outcomes and build strategies to fulfill those outcomes
  • Must be able to balance priorities, articulate the impact of trade-off decisions and help the team make the best decisions for the Q-SYS Platform as a whole
  • Ability to lead through influence, build credibility quickly and form strong partnerships with other team members
  • Proficient with MS Office and demonstrated ability to adopt additional tools such as Jira and Confluence
