The Staff Linux Kernel Engineer will be responsible for design and implementation of application software in Linux OS for a wide variety of projects for Q-SYS. This is a hands-on programming role that will exercise your technical leadership experience in software system design. You will have the ability to bring creative solutions to our customers and the audio, visual, and control product space, while working in a dynamic and collaborative agile scrum environment.

Base Pay Range $149,000 - $194,000

This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. • Design and develop world-class software on our industry-leading Q-SYS platform
• Collaborate with other Senior Engineers and Product Managers on system architecture
• Provide thought leadership and technical guidance for embedded software peers
• Work with Software Quality Assurance to develop appropriate test strategies
• Perform other duties as assigned

• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 10 plus years’ hands-on experience developing C and C++ software in Linux OS
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing complex embedded software systems
• Experience with the best principles, practices, and patterns of software design
• Ability to acquire deep knowledge of open source libraries or drivers, to the point of being able to modify them to meet project requirements.
• Experience modifying kernel sources to meet user space application needs.
• Proficiency in several of the following areas:

      • Graphics and video drivers
      • USB protocol and drivers

• Experience working on software programs developed collaboratively by international teams
