Overview

The “Advanced Applications Engineer," based in the Northwest (WA, OR, ID) area with easy travel access to the territory. Most of the travel will be within the territory, but some travel outside the region will be required to provide the highest level of field support to our channel partners, and prospective users by providing advanced system training, design, deployment, programming, third-party integration, and troubleshooting. As the Advanced Applications Engineer your main role will be supporting all channel partners in the Northwest territory.

 

Base Pay Range 82,000 - 112,000

The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. Responsibilities

  • Work with Senior Regional Manager, Area Manager, channel partners, and end-users to design Audio, Video, and Control solutions around the Q-SYS ecosystem.
  • Lead the field training initiative for the Q-SYS ecosystem.
  • Write scope of work and perform onsite programming and commissioning for Q-SYS professional services.
  • Provide guidance, develop, and teach Advanced Level training curriculum.
  • Provide Advanced-level Seminars and presentations as required.
  • Represent Q-SYS at regional and national trade shows.
  • Participate as a subject matter expert on the Q-SYS ecosystem on platforms such as QSC Communities.
  • Create solutions and develop system diagrams and bill of materials for sales opportunities.
  • Provide Mentoring on subject matter expertise to other Systems Application Engineers within the organization.
  • Assist and influence Product Development by acquiring and reporting application, use-case, and customer requirements information.
  • Keep Engineering, Marketing, Product Development, Technical Services and Quality Assurance divisions informed, in writing, of any product problems, opportunities, software bugs or emerging customer needs.
  • Reinforce QSC’s credibility within the Pro Audio, Video and Control community.
  • Assist in building and programming tradeshow technology demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a technical/engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5-year experience in the professional audio, visual and control industry
• Certifications with third-party control integration (Extron, Crestron, AMX etc.) are desirable.
• Experience as a Systems Contractor and/or Consultant is highly desirable.
• Must be fluent in computer technologies, networked audio video and control systems, and DSP technology.
• Must have a deep understanding of integrated audio-visual systems and signal flow.
• Audio Visual industry certifications in CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D are desirable.
• IT industry certifications such as CCNA, CCDA, Network + or equivalent are desirable.
• Experience with LUA scripting, User Interface Design, Control System Design, Logic flow or similar skills is highly desirable.
• Experience with Unified Communications systems (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco, etc.) are desirable.
• Ability to present technical topics in a classroom, webinar, and tradeshow setting is required.
• Position requires a minimum of 50% travel.
