Overview

The Training Manager works under the supervision and direction of the Senior Training Manager, but operates autonomously to conduct regularly scheduled Q-SYS live classroom trainings (including advanced Q-SYS courses like Q-SYS Level 2 and Control 201) facilitated primarily in-person in our Training Room in Costa Mesa, CA, as well as remotely from the Training Manager’s home office. Training Manager conducts administrative responsibilities associated with scheduling, communicating, and arranging each class. Training Manager also provides technical review of Q-SYS student exit exams for all curriculum, and participates in one-on-one Office Hours review sessions with students.

 

Base Pay Range 100,000 - 124,000

The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. Responsibilities

  • Instruction: Conduct live advanced Q-SYS classroom trainings for our integrator/programmer/end-user community, primarily but not limited to Q-SYS Level Two online curriculum, from our Training facility in Costa Mesa, CA
  • Q-SYS Training Design Validation and Consultation: Review final design submissions for Q-SYS online and in-classroom training events, requiring intricate subjective understanding of Q-SYS systems and its open architecture format, in order to certify students globally in Q-SYS Level One, Q-SYS Level Two, Q-SYS Cinema, and other on-demand training courses.
  • Manage class rosters, communicate with students, liaise with various members of Q-SYS to facilitate training needs
  • Perform “Office Hours” video consultations with Q-SYS training students to provide one-on-one training assistance, provide expert guidance and knowledge on Q-SYS systems, DSP design verification, and UCI efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in audio, DSP, engineering and/or electronics
  • Ability to conduct trainings in our Training Facility in Costa Mesa, CA for at least 2 weeks/month
  • Thorough understanding of audio, video and control (AV&C) systems.
  • Firm understanding of Q-SYS Platform and Q-SYS Designer Software (Q-SYS Level 1 & Level 2 certification)
  • Other AV manufacturer certification is a plus (Crestron, AMX, Extron)
  • Experience in curriculum development and/or writing technical copy in an education setting
  • Experience in Lua Scripting
  • Moderate experience/familiarity with the Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly in InDesign & Photoshop (primarily for training collateral maintenance)
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • High level communication skills to synthesize complex product & AV&C related concepts from many different knowledge sources into simple, consumable training materials
  • High level of poise and composure in delivering training on-camera and to live classes
