  • Overview

    QSC seeks a New Products Quality Engineer, which is a technical engineering position focused on product and process quality excellence on new product launches. Ensures achievement of quality deliverables throughout the Product Development Process. The New Products Quality Engineer provides support to QSC Core Teams and leads quality initiatives and improvements throughout the Product Development Phases of new products. The New Products Quality Engineer reports to the New Products Quality Manager in the implementation of strategic departmental quality initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    • Quality lead on New Product Development Programs.
    • Develop and implement Quality Plans at EV, DV, PV, Pilot and Ramp phases on New Product Development Programs.
    • Develop and implement Part Qualification Plans on key sub-tier components (pcba, metal, plastic, cable assembly) to ensure product and process quality excellence at production launch.
    • Develop and maintain First Article Status and Part Quality Maturity Levels throughout the Product Development Process.
    • Audit and qualify new suppliers identified during New Product Development Programs.
    • Develop and implement process performance criteria to evaluate the readiness of New Product Launches to Sustaining Production.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • B.S. degree with at least 4-7 years Engineering or related discipline
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with contract manufacturers and key sub-tier suppliers (metals, plastics, cables, pcba) overseas preferred
    • Experienced with application of APQP tools (FMEA, Measurement Systems Analysis, SPC, PPAP)
    • Experiences with application of PPAP tools
    • Experiences with Supplier Quality system auditing overseas
    • Experience in electromechanical manufacturing including pcba assembly, plastic injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, cable assembly, system assembly, and test.
    • Experience working with an offsite staff is desired.
    • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain relationships at all levels in order to identify and resolve obstacles and facilitate results.
